Here are a few photos from round the lunchroom. This is really just a preliminary post, a preview. I plan to post additional pictures and more matter about my mate's meals in the future. And yes, to get these pictures I kinda walked around the cafeteria, asking people if I could photograph their lunches--might've been slightly weird, but for the sake of the blog...
First pic is my lunch of sweet potatoes that I roasted in bacon fat with sage and garlic, and a sous vide chicken breast that I crisped up in a hot pan the previous night.

Great post. I love this "real world food" kind of stuff.
Very cool. What is it all and which are cafeteria food? Looks like some excellent lunches -- or maybe its just your mates that have the good stuff?
I, too, think this is a great post...love that you went around taking pictures..who cares if it may have been weird!
Love the idea. Were these all lunches people brought from home? If so, it would be interesting to see what the cafeteria is serving up for comparison. I hope you explore this some more!

By and large, those lunches looked a lot healthier than I thought they would. I agree with some of the other commenters, I kind of dug this post, too.
You guys are allowed to have cameras out during lunch? Ours would totally get taken away. Those all semi-delicious, well the ones without the meat. I'm lucky to eat a banana and a granola bar at lunch with everything but your school seems cool.

I love the idea! I might try doing the same thing in Japan. All those breads would turn into rice :)
I thought most of them looked terrible!
deli meat + kleenex bread + mayo seems to be the trend.
Cheers to people who cook!
