Pretty ain't she? I was able to get this brand new for 10 bucks!!! Yes, 10 bucks! My neighbor and family friend works at QVC, and they recently had an employee sale. I clearly reaped the benefits. What does Le Creuset sells these for? 150? I've already used it for some harissa-braised brisket, and I'm planning on using it for fried chicken in the near future.
I'm very protective though. Nobody's touchin this. It's resting up in my room now until I can find a more suitable hiding spot.

I'm jealous about your QVC connection! I'd love some cheap stuff from them nowadays...
Anyway, what's a Dutch oven used for? It's not like a normal oven, is it?
I love the color! Le Creuset is awesome! There's this store that has this whole section of nothing but Le Creuset and I must say, it's beautiful! :)
Does 'she' have a name yet? :)
ah, le creuset. the first thing i really cooked myself was a gorgonzola sauce for penne pasta in my orange le creuset saucepan. recipe modified from How To Cook Everything. Good times.
wait. I just read the post again. is the harissa braised brisket what a the cute girl liked in a past post?
Lucky boy!
Hoarding cookware? Isn't that one of the signs of he Apocalypse?
That's so funny that you're hiding it in your room. Very protective of our cookware, aren't we?
Definitely need to try out the No-Knead Bread now that you have something to bake it in!
I have a knife that I only use for lending to people. You may find you need to acquire a really crappy but similar looking pot for the same purpose.
My mom found an orange Le Creuset 3.5 quart french oven at a thrift store in PERFECT condition. I have of course stolen it and used it to make mouth watering beef roulade with blue cheese and lots of other YUMMY slow cooked dishes. Mom's not getting it back.
Right on! I also recently got my first dutch oven (Lodge - gorgeous blue - 6 quart). Love, love it. Braised ribs, etc. Not quite the bargain that you scored. congrats you lucky talented boy.
to infinity and beyond!
That's an awesome deal! It doesn't look like an LeCreuset, though. What brand is it?
yea, dont le creusets have black handles?
Ha I know exactly what its like to hide your favorite new kitchen toy to be the first (or only) person to use it.
Good luck!
Congratulations. I hope you really enjoy using it. The dutch oven offers so many new opportunities!
I know that pot. It's a Staub. You should look them up online and you'll just dance all over the place when you see how much you saved, because they are every bit as expensive as LeCreuset. I have one in red and I absolutely adore it. For braised short ribs...chili...pulled pork...yummmmm!
So many nice things can be cooked in a dutch oven. How about a nice coq au vin or Irish lamb stew with some Guinness stout in it? Mmmmm
I love my dutch oven, I use it all the time, it's a go to in my kitchen.
